NAIRN TARTAN ARMY

Nairn TA Was first thought about in October sometime (Cant remember) and we had our first "Formal" meeting on Tuesday 27th November.

Tthe committee was chosen from the collection of people present on the night.

We all agreed on a manifesto that we felt was right for the club and advised everyone to fill out Membership forms for both Nairn TA and the SSC.

We carried on drumming up support from locals and have, to date got approx 60 people wanting to join. There are 10 of us full SSC members and are struggling to get the rest on board due to the high demand of the SSC.

We decided that whatever happened we would carry on raising funds and generally having fun. We eventually raised £220 which we used to buy our flag.

While watching the Scotland V Engerland rugby match. (What a result) On Friday 16th May, Nairn TA held its first ever speakers night at the Legion Club in Nairn and what a night. Originally we had Willie Henderson, John Dixie Deans and Duncan Shearer booked but due to the untimely death of Tommy Burns Dixie had to pull out. As a replacement we got a hold of Jim Leighton.

A great night had by all with Willie Henderson telling great story's and Jim and Duncan leading a great question and answer session.

Half time food was scoffed and I lost count of the amount of bottles of Vodka that was consumed.

Saturday was FA Cup final day and we had a general laugh with Willie Henderson and a guest appearance from Andy Goram, who was appearing at another speakers night on the Saturday night. (See Andy with the boys in pic above)

If any other Tartan Army foot soldiers are in the Nairn Area, feel free to contact us or just pop along to see what we're about and we'll share a few sherbs! or email us at this ADDRESS.

We don't charge any fees and only fund raise in our local pub which has sponsored us, The Star Hotel in Church Street, Nairn.

I am better known as Bigholly on the TAMB (Real name Colin)
